Welcome Educators!

Nelson and Pade, Inc.® works with schools and Universities around the world, supplying our Clear Flow Aquaponic Systems® for schools, education and research. Currently, we have shipped systems to hundreds of schools and Universities in the United States and over 30 countries. Aquaponics in schools is a primary goal of Nelson and Pade Inc.® We provide assistance, documentation, curriculums and grower support so that educators can focus on what matters…successfully implementing an aquaponics program to educate their students.

Aquaponics in Schools Aquaponics is an excellent means of demonstrating many principles of science, agriculture, math and business in all grade levels and for home schooling. Applications of these technologies are only limited by ones imagination. The concept of interdisciplinary education shines when it comes to aquaponics in schools. In addition to the plant sciences, aquaponics incorporates and demonstrates many of natures natural cycles, nitrification, biology, fish anatomy and nutrition and high-tech agriculture. A unit in aquaponics enforces practical uses of chemistry, mathematics, physics, economics and engineering. The monitoring and care of an aquaponic system by students helps instill a sense of responsibility, inspires creativity and creates excitement in the learning environment. A unit in aquaponics can be started at the beginning of a semester and run through the entire semester, allowing the educator to present the individual concepts and lessons as the plants and fish develop and grow.

Aquaponics in Universities Nelson and Pade, Inc.® is the leader in launching aquaponics in Universities by supplying aquaponic systems and training programs to Universities around the world.

Additionally, Nelson and Pade, Inc.® has provided science-based, proven aquaponic systems to the University of the Virgin Islands, University of Malaysia, University of Minnesota, Johns Hopkins, Sustainability and Wellness program, Acadia University, Flagler College Enactus, JSC University, University of Hawaii, University of Massachusetts, Shepard’s College, Lakeland College, San Diego State University, Embry Riddle University, University of Greenwich-London, and many more. For aquaponics at your University, contact Nelson and Pade, Inc.® to discuss how we can assist you in advancing your aquaponics program.

Dean Longhofer, Flagler College Enactus, comments: “We acquired the system early this year and already we are seeing tremendous results. We chose a Nelson and Pade system because it was highly recommended for its efficiency and its quality. This system has taught Flagler College and Flagler College Enactus the science of aquaponics through its hands-on experience. Because Nelson and Pade takes time to create high quality products, we were able to produce high quality plants.”

Questions?

School and University Systems

Yes! It is included FREE with the purchase of a Nelson and Pade® Clear Flow Aquaponic System®
Yes, we supply detailed instructions in the assembly manual. If you are not handy with tools and basic assembly, we suggest that you enlist the help of someone who is.
Our School and University Systems are designed for and intended to grow a combination of garden crops, such as lettuce, greens, herbs, beans, peas, cucumbers, peppers, cabbage, broccoli and more. You should grow what you will best suit your needs in education and research. The fish can be tilapia, blue gill, koi, goldfish or another fresh water fish that does well at 74℉.
A controlled environment greenhouse is ideal, but not a necessity for a school or university system. Most schools put these systems right in a classroom or a wet lab. One school even put it in an abandoned locker room! Just keep in mind that you’ll need fresh water, drains, electricity and grow lights if growing indoors. If you have a greenhouse, or a budget for a greenhouse, that is a great choice.
