“Here at Baker Technical Institute (BTI), we are using a Nelson and Pade F5 system as a foundation for learning about the exciting and engaging science of aquaponics.  High school students are able to learn  a variety of concepts related to science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) with contexts in plant and fish science, food safety, global food security, local food production, agricultural and biological engineering, water chemistry/quality and systems science to name a few. Our relationship with the F5 system has also exposed students to new innovative career pathways in agriculture, science and engineering.

One of the greatest benefits of our F5 system is the relationship we have with the Nelson and Pade staff.  Troy has been a great support with customer service and educational support, connecting us with other schools and teachers around the US. And, Rebecca has been wonderful with speaking directly with our students using Skype to troubleshoot challenges, highlight students successes with operating the system, and giving them authentic perspectives concerning educational and industry opportunities in the aquaponic field.  Thank you Nelson and Pade for enriching our 21st century learning experiences here at BTI!”
