“Even though Certified Naturally Grown (CNG) started out certifying soil-based farms, we recognize the great potential for aquaponic farms to be a reliable source of fresh, local food that’s ecologically grown, all year long. To help guide and encourage this emerging form of sustainable agriculture, CNG developed an aquaponic certification program. Throughout this process, we were fortunate to have had access to the expertise of Nelson and Pade, Inc®. Their deep knowledge and generosity helped us define rigorous standards tailored to the particulars of aquaponic food production. We’re proud to present the results at CNGfarming.org/aquaponics.
