Notes from the artist, Ray Troll: “This is my homage to Pieter Bruegel’s 1556 masterpiece ‘Big Fish Eat the Little Fish’, one of his better known depictions of Dutch proverbs. I gave it a little bit of a Southeast Alaskan twist with lingcod, snapper, decorated warbonnets and sockeye salmon all greedily gobbling each other up. Humans are a huge part of the food chain these days so I included a nerdy looking fellow snarfing a sardine sandwich.”
