Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation Tours Nelson & Pade, Inc.® for Manufacturing Month

John Pade, Tricia Braun, COO WEDC, Rebecca Nelson at Nelson and Pade, Inc., Montello, WI

As part of Manufacturing Month, WEDC officials toured our headquarters in Montello yesterday and had the opportunity to meet with the company’s employees, learn more about the company’s innovative Clear Flow Aquaponic Systems®, and see firsthand what has made our company successful.

For over 30 years, we have helped people from around the world get started and become successful in aquaponic food production. We accomplish this by providing comprehensive training, science-based, Clear Flow Aquaponic Systems®, and long-term grower support. To date, people from 103 countries and all 50 U.S. states have travelled to our state-of-the-art demonstration facility in Montello to attend our Aquaponics Master Class®.

“When combined with controlled environment agriculture, aquaponics can be used to grow large quantities of high-quality food in relatively small spaces in an environmentally friendly way,” says Rebecca Nelson, co-founder and co-owner. “It is more important than ever to utilize methods of cultivating food that are safe and sustainable and result in food that is healthful and free of contamination.”

Our Clear Flow Aquaponic Systems® allow growers to produce food year-round in any environment, using a proven system designed and built in Wisconsin. Unlike traditional agriculture, Clear Flow Aquaponic Systems® use one-sixth of the water to sustainably grow eight times more food per acre, without the use of pesticides, herbicides or chemical fertilizers.

Earlier this year, we joined WEDC’s “Made In Wisconsin” Program, which provides Wisconsin’s companies with a marketing tool and an official “Made In Wisconsin” logo, to help showcase the origin and quality of our products. At yesterday’s event, Tricia Braun, Deputy Secretary and COO of WEDC presented our company founders Rebecca Nelson and John Pade with their Made In Wisconsin plaque to honor their commitment to Wisconsin and participation in the program.

“Wisconsin has a long, rich history of manufacturing with companies such as Nelson & Pade,” says WEDC Deputy Secretary and COO Tricia Braun. “We are pleased to support Nelson & Pade through our Made In Wisconsin Program and have the opportunity to celebrate their efforts in manufacturing.”
