The Wisconsin Innovation Awards (WIA) seek to celebrate and inspire innovation through the annual WIA Awards, which honor organizations in various sectors for their contributions of innovative solutions.
Nelson and Pade, Inc.®, Montello, WI, was named a winner in the manufacturing category for their aquaponic farming and gardening systems. The 2021 WIA award ceremony took place on Oct 6 in Madison, WI, during which 9 companies were announced as winners from a pool of 28 finalists and 331 nominees.

The WIA highlights and honors the development of groundbreaking and innovative ideas. If it is a transformational idea, they want to celebrate it! WIA hopes to encourage an even greater environment of innovation by bringing innovators together from various business sectors (e.g. tech, food, healthcare, agriculture, nonprofits, education, government), and from throughout the state.
Aquaponics is a method of growing food in which fish and plants are grown in one integrated system that produces protein and vegetables, all grown without the use of pesticides, herbicides or chemical fertilizers.
