Nelson and Pade, Inc.® Named the 2017 Wisconsin Business Friend of the Environment
Last week I was asked to step away from my desk, and represent Nelson and Pade, Inc.®, along with my team member Erin Kuhn, at the Wisconsin Manufacturers and Commerce (WMC) Policy Day. The event was hosted at the beautiful Monona Terrace in Madison, and the agenda was filled with policy reviews and updates on Human Resources, Taxes and Energy & Environmental topics. Speakers included U.S. Senator Ron Johnson and Governor Scott Walker.
The Business Friend of the Environment award highlights what Wisconsin companies are doing in the areas of sustainability, innovative technology and environmental stewardship. The goal of this awards program is to demonstrate to state policymakers, businesses and the public that sound environmental practices are good for Wisconsin and its business environment.
These awards are available to private industry companies headquartered or with significant operations in Wisconsin. Annually, three winners are selected in each of the following categories: Sustainability, Environmental Innovation and Environmental Stewardship.
Erin and I were honored to accept the award for the Environmental Innovation 2017 Wisconsin Business Friend of the Environment Award, on behalf of Nelson and Pade, Inc.®. Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources Secretary Cathy Stepp presented us with our awarded plaque that is now proudly displayed in our office. We were also presented with a large Wisconsin Business Friend of the Environment flag that will soon be displayed in our bio-secure entryway of our state-of-the-art greenhouse facility for all visitors and guests to see.
We are looking forward to the 2018 awards!
