UWSP Students Create Aquaponics Business Models at Nelson and Pade

The 5,000 sq. ft. greenhouse at Nelson and Pade Inc.’s aquaponics business in Montello turned into a scene from a cooking show on May 21st as students taking a UW-Stevens Point class gathered for a hands-on experience to complete their Introduction to Aquaponics course.

The course was designed by Nelson and Pade owners John Pade and Rebecca Nelson, along with Dr. Chris Hartleb, a professor of Biology and Aquaculture at UW-SP. This is the third year for the course, which attracts a mixture of students, many of whom are studying biology.
