Rebecca Nelson is co-founder and co-owner of Nelson and Pade, Inc.®, the Most Trusted Name in Aquaponics®. Rebecca is an adjunct instructor for the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point and she helped co-develop and co-teaches the first full semester University course on aquaponics. Rebecca is the author of the first and primary book on aquaponics, Aquaponic Food Production
, as well as school curriculums, videos, training manuals, operation manuals and many articles on aquaponics. She published and edited the Aquaponics Journal®, from 1997-2013 (62 issues). Rebecca has actively been involved in controlled environment agriculture for over 30 years and aquaponic food production for over 20 years. Rebecca has created the curriculum for and teaches in the Aquaponics Master Class™, which, to date has had attendees from 101 countries and all 50 US states and 3 US territories. She was recently inducted into the NZ4 Global Alliance and has previously served on the Boards of the Wisconsin Aquaculture Association and the Hydroponics Society of America. Rebecca served on the Certified Naturally Grown Aquaponics Advisory Council from 2014-2015 and was appointed to the WI Aquaculture Advisory Council in 2013. Rebecca is a featured authority on local and national radio, TV, magazine and newspaper coverage of aquaponics.
Co-founder and Visionary
John Pade, co‐founder, co‐owner and Chief Technology Officer at Nelson and Pade, Inc.®, has been actively involved in soilless food production and controlled environment agriculture since the mid 1980’s, as a grower, builder, system developer, consultant, author and educator. In the early 90’s, along with his partner, Rebecca Nelson, he began studying aquaponics and building and designing aquaponic systems. Since that time, Nelson and Pade, Inc.® has designed, built and shipped economically and environmentally sustainable aquaponic systems of John’s design that number in the hundreds and are utilized in the US, Canada, Mexico, the Caribbean, Europe and Asia. John has designed the patented ZDEP® aquaponic filtration system, which dramatically increases food production while decreasing waste. John has taught aquaponics to individuals from over 85 countries in Nelson and Pade, Inc.® Aquaponics Master Class™ and in the UWSP Introduction to Aquaponics course.
Oliver Baysinger is Nelson and Pade, Inc.®’s Business Manager, ensuring that all details of the business are successfully attended to. Oliver oversees the daily success of the business, from guiding the Nelson and Pade, Inc.® team to overseeing aspects that include the company’s financial health, manufacturing, continuity and quality. With a wealth of business management experience and skill, and a passion for technology and nature, Oliver is an excellent fit for his role at Nelson and Pade, Inc.® Oliver has a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from MacMurray College in Jacksonville, Illinois and extensive experience in the aviation and transportation industries. Additionally, he has experience as an instructor and trainer in many diverse environments. In his spare time, Oliver enjoys rebuilding classic European cars and riding his Victory motorcycle. Andrew DeWitt, Operations Manager, oversees all daily operations to ensure a consistent and efficient workflow as well as encouraging a positive customer experience through quality team efforts in all facets of operations. Andrew coordinates staff, orders and information between the office, manufacturing shop, shipping department and provides structure and guidance to keep the company running smoothly. Andrew joined Nelson and Pade, Inc® in late 2012. He has a Bachelor of Science in fisheries from the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point. Andrew is an avid fisherman and hunter, enjoys the great outdoors and embraces the cold snowy Wisconsin winters. Email: email@example.com
Manager of Purchasing and Finance
Erin Kuhn joined Nelson and Pade, Inc.® in mid-2012. She oversees purchasing, inventory management and accounting. Erin is a graduate of UW-Eau Claire with a Bachelor of Business Administration-Accounting. She grew up on a farm in central Wisconsin and enjoys gardening and music. Sales and Event Coordinator
Jannel is a valued member of our Sales Team as well as our Event Coordinator. Jannel organizes our Aquaponics Master Class® and coordinates expos and events and a variety of other tasks that help to keep our company running smoothly. Carmen Gardner handles commercial sales of Clear Flow Aquaponic Systems® and NP-Series greenhouses. Carmen brings a wealth of knowledge to Nelson and Pade, Inc.®, with an Associate of Science degree in Business Management and a Bachelor of Science degree in Interior design. Her previous work experience includes working in management, design, planning and 3-d rendering and CAD drawing. She has travelled extensively and lived and worked abroad. Reception and Sales

CAD and Design
Ron Arndt joined Nelson and Pade, Inc.® during the spring of 2012 and works in CAD drawing and design, assembly manual development and tech support. Ron has a degree in Architectural Design and a diverse range of experience in construction, repair, landscaping and woodworking.
Manager of the Nelson and Pade Grower Training and Support Program
Tim is an excellent educator who shares his knowledge of and passion for aquaponics in the Aquaponics Master Class®, Extended Stay Learning Program and the Nelson and Pade Grower Program. Tim joined Nelson and Pade, Inc.® in early 2015. Tim also helps with daily tasks in our commercial greenhouse as well as assisting our technicians in the assembly and installation of Clear Flow Aquaponic Systems®. Tim graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point with a double major in Fisheries and Biology and a minor in Water Resources. Tim is an avid fisherman and loves spending time in the outdoors.
Barb Joyce is our Greenhouse Manager at Nelson and Pade, Inc.®. She participates in all facets of the daily operation of our 14,000 sq. ft. demonstration greenhouse, ensuring the continuous operation and production. Barb oversees the greenhouse Team, produce and fish orders and daily tasks. Barb has extensive experience in greenhouse culture and landscape maintenance. She earned an Associate of Applied Science Degree in Floriculture and has a Certificate in Floral Design.
Maddi is a Junior at the High Marq Enviornmental Charter School in Montello and a previous student of of the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point Introduction to Aquaponics course. In addition to going to high school and working for Nelson and Pade, Inc.®, Maddi to taking classes at the University of Wisconsin-Baraboo.
Maddi joined our Greenhouse team in 2015.
Senior Aquaponics Technician
Bryan is involved in the assembly, packaging and shipment of our Clear Flow Aquaponic Systems®
as well as organizing the shop to enhance productivity and work-flow. Bryan also assists John Pade in Research and Development and system design advancement. Bryan has a diverse background in building, plumbing and mechanics and has excelled at Nelson and Pade, Inc.® Bryan joined the Nelson and Pade, Inc.® team in 2010. In his time at Nelson and Pade, Inc.®, Bryan has built more aquaponic systems than anyone in the world. When not at Nelson and Pade, Inc.® you can often find Bryan at the gym or DJ-ing.
John Unger has a diverse background in carpentry and construction. John is our construction consultant for our expansion and infrastructure improvements. John assists in the manufacture and assembly of our Clear Flow Aquaponic Systems® and helps with a variety of projects as we continue to develop infrastructure at our Montello campus.
Aquaponics Technician and Quality Control Specialist
Phil is the Quality Control Specialist at Nelson and Pade, Inc.® He ensures that our Clear Flow Aquaponic Systems® are complete and carefully packaged for shipment. Phil also has experience in woodworking and helps to build the hand-crafted cedar stands that hold our fish and filter tanks. Phil joined the Nelson and Pade, Inc.® team in June of 2014.
Jon joined Nelson and Pade, Inc.® during the fall of 2015. He helps in the assembly of our Clear Flow Aquaponic Systems®. A long time resident of Montello, Jon enjoys fishing in our local waterways and spending time with his children.
Mike is an Aquaponics Technician, helping to build and assemble our Clear Flow Aquaponic Systems®. A Master carpenter, certified pool operator and heavy equipment operator, Mike brings a diverse and helpful skill set to the Nelson and Pade Team. Mike has also worked as a head chef, kitchen manager, contractor and a superintendent of a golf course. He joined the Team in Feb, 2016.
Matt O'Connell is an aquaponics technician at Nelson and Pade, Inc.® Matt is originally from Rochester, MN and graduated from UW-La Crosse, earning a BS in Geography and Philosophy, with a Environmental Science Concentration. Matt relocated to Marquette County to enjoy the natural resources and proximity to family land. He joined the team in 2016. With broad experience in conservation, maintenance and organic farming, Matt is a great fit for the Nelson and Pade, Inc.® Team. He has also worked as a climbing wall supervisor.
Board of Advisors
David is on Nelson and Pade, Inc.'s Board of Advisors. His many talents include carpentry, organization, building and maintenance. David and his wife, Shirl, have owned and operated many businesses together, including an airport, a pizza chain and a large hydroponic tomato farm in northern Wisconsin. And, if you haven’t guessed it yet, David is John Pade’s brother.
