Rebecca L Nelson

Co-founder and President

Rebecca Nelson is President and co-founder of Nelson and Pade, Inc.®, the Most Trusted Name in Aquaponics®. Rebecca is an Adjunct Instructor for the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point and she helped co-develop and co-teaches the first full semester University course on aquaponics. Rebecca is the author of the first and primary book on aquaponics, Aquaponic Food Production, as well as school curriculums, videos, training manuals, operation manuals and many articles on aquaponics. She published and edited the Aquaponics Journal®, from 1997-2013 (62 issues). Rebecca has actively been involved in controlled environment agriculture for over 30 years and aquaponic food production for over 20 years. Rebecca has created the curriculum for and co-teaches the Aquaponics Master Class®, which to date has had attendees from 103 countries, all 50 US states and 3 US territories. She was recently inducted into the NZ4 Global Alliance and has previously served on the Boards of the Wisconsin Aquaculture Association and the Hydroponics Society of America. Rebecca served on the Certified Naturally Grown Aquaponics Advisory Council from 2014-2015 and was appointed to the WI Aquaculture Advisory Council in 2013. Rebecca has been an invited speaker at conferences and events around the world and is a featured authority on local and national radio, TV, magazine and newspaper coverage of aquaponics.

John Pade

Co-founder and Visionary

John Pade, co‐founder and Visionary at Nelson and Pade, Inc.®, has been actively involved in soilless food production and controlled environment agriculture since the mid 1980’s, as a grower, builder, system developer, consultant and educator.  John leads the research and development efforts at Nelson and Pade, Inc. ® and has designed the patented Clear Flow Aquaponics Systems® with ZDEP (Zero Discharge/Extra Production), which dramatically increase food production while decreasing waste.  John’s ongoing efforts continue to advance the technology and make the availability of fresh food a reality for people around the world. To date, Nelson and Pade, Inc.’s Clear Flow Aquaponics Systems® are used by individuals, entrepreneurs, schools and Universities in nearly 30 counties. John is an Adjunct Instructor for the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point and he co-teaches in the Aquaponics Master Class™ and UWSP Introduction to Aquaponics course.

Oliver Baysinger

Business Manager

Oliver Baysinger is Nelson and Pade, Inc.®’s Business Manager, ensuring that all details of the business are successfully attended to. Oliver oversees the daily success of the business, from guiding the Nelson and Pade, Inc.® team to overseeing aspects that include the company’s financial health, manufacturing, continuity and quality. Oliver works closely with our commercial customers in planning their business, providing Project Planning Guidance and assistance. With a wealth of business management experience and skill, and a passion for technology and nature, Oliver is an excellent fit for his role at Nelson and Pade, Inc.® Oliver has a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from MacMurray College in Jacksonville, Illinois and extensive experience in the aviation and transportation industries. Additionally, he has experience as an instructor and trainer in many diverse environments. In his spare time, Oliver enjoys restoration projects and fishing. He is also a pilot and the president and treasurer of the regional EAA club.

Erin Kuhn

Manager of Purchasing and Finance

Erin Kuhn joined Nelson and Pade, Inc.® in mid-2012. She oversees purchasing, inventory management and accounting.

Erin is a graduate of UW-Eau Claire with a Bachelor of Business Administration-Accounting.  She grew up on a farm in central Wisconsin and enjoys gardening and music.

Erin and her husband, Bob, have two teenage children.


Jannel Dunn

Sales and Event Coordinator

Jannel is a valued member of our Sales Team as well as our Event Coordinator. Jannel organizes our Aquaponics Master Class® and coordinates expos and events and a variety of other tasks that help to keep our company running smoothly. 

With extensive experience in customer service, sales and various office responsibilities, Jannel is a great fit for Nelson and Pade, Inc.®

Tim Dobbins

Manager of the Nelson and Pade Grower Training and Support Program

Tim is an excellent educator who shares his knowledge of and passion for aquaponics in the Aquaponics Master Class®, Extended Stay Learning Program and the Nelson and Pade Grower Program.  Tim joined Nelson and Pade, Inc.® in early 2015. Tim connects with our clients daily by phone and email, providing guidance and technical support as they get their systems started and running.

Tim graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point with a double major in Fisheries and Biology and a minor in Water Resources.  Tim is an avid fisherman and loves spending time in the outdoors.

Matt O’Connell

Technical Support and Systems Advisor

Matt O’Connell is the Technical Support and Systems Advisor at Nelson and Pade, Inc.®, providing assembly and operational guidance to our growers. Matt is originally from Rochester, MN and graduated from UW-La Crosse, earning a BS in Geography and Philosophy, with a Environmental Science Concentration. Matt relocated to Marquette County to enjoy the natural resources and proximity to family land.  He joined the team in 2016. With broad experience in conservation, maintenance and organic farming, Matt is a great fit for the Nelson and Pade, Inc.® Team. He has also worked as a climbing wall supervisor.

Ron Arndt

CAD and Design

Ron Arndt joined Nelson and Pade, Inc.® during the spring of 2012.

Ron works in CAD drawing and design, assembly manual development and tech support.

Ron has a degree in Architectural Design and a diverse range of experience in construction, repair, landscaping and woodworking.

Dalice McGwin

Greenhouse Technician

Dalice works in the Nelson and Pade® demonstration greenhouse, assisting with the daily operational tasks, including harvesting, transplanting, seeding and feeding the fish.  Dalice oversees all of the produce and fish orders, ensures that the orders are filled and the produce and fish are delivered when and where needed.

Dalice grew up on a well-established dairy farm and was the president of the local FFA at Montello High School.

She has previous work experience in retail, assembly and inventory. Dalice has 2 children and resides in Montello.

Dana Radaj

Greenhouse Technician

Dana helps perform a variety of tasks in our aquaponics greenhouse, including seeding, transplanting, harvesting, feeding fish and maintaining the filter tanks.  Dana earned a BA in Biology with Chemistry and Business Management Minors from Alverno College.  She has a wealth of experience in a variety of business settings, from real estate to microbiology lab testing.

Dana also assists her husband, Steve, in his heating and cooling business.

Tiffanie Timme

Greenhouse Technician

Tiffany, a member of our greenhouse team, assists in the operation of our aquaponics greenhouses, performing tasks such as seeding, harvesting, transplanting, feeding the fish and maintaining filter tanks.

Tiffany earned a major in Animal Science with an emphasis on Agri-Business from the University of Wisconsin-Platteville. She has been active in community activities, including the Marquette County Youth Organization, the Marquette County Fair Board, American Junior Herford Association and the National FFA.

Maddi Vetter

Greenhouse Assistant

Maddi is a Junior at the UW-Eau Claire and a previous student at UW-Baraboo and the High Marq Charter School in Montello.  While still in high school, Maddi attended the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point Introduction to Aquaponics course.

Maddi joined our Greenhouse team in 2015.

She is now a college, but will join us and help when she can.

Phil Smith

Aquaponics Technician and Quality Control Specialist

Phil overseas the woodshop and is the Quality Control Specialist at Nelson and Pade, Inc.®  He ensures that our Clear Flow Aquaponic Systems® are complete and carefully packaged for shipment.

Phil also has experience in woodworking and helps to build the hand-crafted cedar stands that hold our fish and filter tanks.

Phil joined the Nelson and Pade, Inc.® team in June of 2014.

Wayne Loar

Aquaponics Technician

Wayne brings a passion for aquaponics and sustainability to his role as an Aquaponics Technician at Nelson and Pade, Inc.

Wayne is a skilled metal worker and welder, carpenter and NC laser operator.

At Nelson and Pade, he assists our Team in the assembly of Clear Flow Aquaponic Systems®.

Wayne has a passion for aquaponics and sustainability.

Jeff Berkshire

Aquaponics Technician, Special Projects and Maintenance

Jeff is involved in the manufacturing of our Clear Flow Aquaponic Systems® as well as building new infrastructure and organizing special projects at Nelson and Pade®. With a diverse background in maintenance, grounds-keeping, farming and printing, Jeff brings a wide range of skills and experience to each task.

His passion for sustainability led he and his family to organically farm chicken and beef.

Jeff and his wife live in an off-grid, television-free home in Neshkoro, WI.


Manufacturing and Greenhouse Helper

Katie is a senior at Montello High School.

She assists in many areas at Nelson and Pade, Inc., including in systems assembly, manufacturing, in the greenhouse and helps with special projects.

Katie plays basketball on the high school team. Prior to working at Nelson and Pade, Inc., she worked in a local bedding plant greenhouse.


David Pade

Board of Advisors

David is on Nelson and Pade, Inc.’s Board of Advisors.  His many talents include carpentry, organization, building and maintenance. David and his wife, Shirl, have owned and operated many businesses together, including an airport, a pizza chain and a large hydroponic tomato farm in northern Wisconsin.  And, if you haven’t guessed it yet, David is John Pade’s brother.
