Nelson and Pade, Inc.®, Montello, WI, offers aquaponic systems, training and consulting. In aquaponics, we raise fish and vegetables in a soilless, recirculating system without the use of pesticides, herbicides or chemical fertilizers. We demonstrate this in new 14,000 sq. ft. aquaponic greenhouse, which provides fresh vegetables and fish to our staff and community. We have 14,000 sq. ft. of shop space where we assemble systems that we sell and we have a comfortable and casual office in which the sales and daily business takes place.

Our Team-oriented approach to business includes weekly staff meetings to promote cohesiveness in sales, systems, processes and client interactions. Our client base is global and in the past few years we have hosted people from over 97 countries and all 50 US states in our aquaponics training classes in Montello, WI.

1.  Salesperson

Job Description: The person filling this position will be involved in all facets of our sales process and will interact with our potential clients via phone, email and, occasionally, in person. The primary focus of this individual will be on commercial sales. This includes answering questions on commercial Clear Flow Aquaponic Systems® and NP-Series Greenhouses, training opportunities and Project Planning services; following up with inquiries after the initial contact; entering and maintaining customer data and sending customized email responses; update and maintain current customer databases, customer orders and project files. This position involves replying to inquiries, providing information, guiding the customers to products, services and training and then closing the sale. Additionally, the individual will participate in our Aquaponics Master Class®, providing information and education to the class attendees.

Requirements and Skills:

  • A friendly demeanor and a joy of learning and sharing information
  • Enjoy a fast-paced work environment and diverse tasks
  • Good verbal and writing skills are a must
  • Previous experience and success in sales is a prerequisite to the position
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel

  • Knowledge of aquaponics, greenhouses and controlled environment agriculture preferred, but not required.

2.  Greenhouse Assistant

Job Description: The person filling this position will assist in the daily operation of Nelson and Pade, Inc.’s commercial and hobby aquaponic greenhouses in Montello, WI. Additionally, this person will interface with the buyers of our produce and fish and deliver those products to local grocery stores, restaurants and schools. Greenhouse tasks will include: seeding, transplanting, harvesting and packaging of lettuce, greens and other vegetables, cleaning, delivering produce to local customers, feeding fish, record keeping, feeding fish, setting up the farm stand and, potentially, guiding greenhouse tours.

This position is a FULL time and will require some work on weekends in addition to weekdays.

The Nelson and Pade, Inc. management will provide guidance and training on all phases of the aquaponic greenhouse operation and greenhouse environmental control.

3.  Systems Assembler

Job Description:

The person filling this position will assist in the packaging and assembly of Clear Flow Aquaponic Systems®. Duties include counting and organizing parts, labeling and bagging parts, drilling and cutting plastic tanks and PVC pipe, assembly of components, palletizing and preparing the systems for shipment. Additionally, this person will be responsible for keeping the work space clean and organized and returning tools and equipment to the assigned location.

Requirements and Skills:

Individuals applying should have basic building skills such as reading a tape measure; properly using tools such as saws and drills, wrenches; cutting and gluing PVC; counting and keeping the workplace clean.  Having diverse skills in building, manufacturing, repair and plumbing is an asset.  Only hard-working, honest, motivated people need apply. Individual should have a positive attitude and a willingness to work in a team environment.
